Category 6A cable, commonly referred to as Cat6A, is a cable standard for Gigabit Ethernet and other network protocols that are backward compatible with the Category 5/5e and Category 3 cable standards. Compared with Cat5 and Cat6, Cat6A features more stringent specifications for crosstalk and system noise.
This cable consists of 8 colour coded 24 AWG polyethylene insulated conductors, twisted together to form 4 pairs with varying lay lengths. These pairs are then formed around a central ‘X’ shaped polyethylene filler to maintain and enhance cable performance.
